Accelerated Reader is a programme used by more than 6000 schools in the United Kingdom as well as many others worldwide. Fairlands Middle School have implemented the reading programme to provide greater opportunity for children to make more informed choices about the books they are reading and instil a greater sense of enjoyment from ‘reading for pleasure’, whilst also supporting teachers to better monitor students’ independent reading practice and progress.
